Holidays to Paphos

A sun-soaked idyll on the southwest Mediterranean coast of Cyprus, Paphos is a charming meld of Blue Flag beaches, classical antiquity and upbeat nightlife. Thanks to its warm climate and crystal-clear waters, this Cypriot gem is a beautiful place for a family summer holiday, late-summer sunshine or an early season getaway. While balmy temperatures kick in late spring, the best time to visit Paphos is during summer, stretching from June till September, when the mercury touches 30°C. With boundless activities, lively resorts and buzzing water sports around the bay, Paphos holidays are pretty hard to beat when it comes to fun in the sun and sea.

Superb for families and couples, holidays to Paphos include loads of sights to see and beaches to lounge on. Head to the Blue Flag beach of Coral Bay, or take a dip in the turquoise waters of Petra Tou Romiou. History lovers can explore the UNESCO-listed archaeological site of Kato Paphos, while family travellers can take their kids out to the Aphrodite Waterpark - the biggest in Paphos. The resort waterfronts are full of bars and shops selling tourist trinkets, and family-friendly restaurants abound. Paphos is a great place to try Cypriot-style seafood, souvlaki and the traditional Cypriot coffee, which can be savoured best at the harbour-front restaurants. In the evening, the resort transforms into a rocking party venue with buzzing beach bars, nightclubs and pubs. So, whether you want to relax and soak up the rays or hit the party scene, Paphos holidays tick all boxes.

Getting Around

Both the old and new areas of Paphos are small enough to navigate on foot, and their narrow cobbled streets are easily walkable. Buses and taxis are both popular ways to get around town, including open top hop-on buses which are an easy way to see the sights. You can hire bikes, mopeds and cars if you wish to explore further afield; bicycles are available if you want to head into the Troodos mountains.

Sensational Snorkelling

Sensational Snorkelling

Cyprus has hundreds of amazing bays to explore. Grab your flippers and a snorkel and discover the underwater world solo or take a snorkelling boat excursion along the coastline.

There are even a few companies on the island who offer underwater helmets so you can go for a stroll along the floor of the Med, feeding fish and spotting coral as you go. A good compromise for those who aren't ready for the full scuba diving experience.
